Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Summertime Gallery is a nonprofit art studio and gallery dedicated to fostering an inclusive art community. Established in May 2019, the gallery provides a platform for both neurodiverse and non-neurodiverse artists to create, exhibit, and sell their work, promoting a collaborative and supportive environment. ​


🎨 Empowering Artists Through Inclusivity

Summertime Gallery champions a more inclusive art world by ensuring that artists with and without intellectual disabilities create and display work alongside one another. The gallery offers:​

  • Studio Space: Artists have access to a dedicated studio equipped with materials and mentorship, fostering creativity and professional growth.​

  • Residency Program: The residency provides selected artists with 24/7 access to the studio, culminating in exhibitions or community events that showcase their work. ​Cultured Mag

Summertime Gallery hosts various exhibitions, collaborations, and events that celebrate the diverse talents of its artists. These initiatives aim to:​

🛍️ Supporting Artists Through Sales

To support the artists financially, Summertime Gallery offers:​

🤝 Collaborative Design and Development

In August 2020, Design Advocates collaborated with Summertime Gallery to enhance its physical space. The project included:​

  • Participatory Design: Engaging artists in the design process through workshops and feedback sessions to ensure the space meets their needs.​
